Students who arrive at Wenona are allocated a "house" as a means to group students together across years. In 1928 the student body was divided into groups named after people influential Wenona's progress: Hooke, Messiter, Palmer and School. A year later in 1929 Allard House was added primarily to accommodate new students. Students competed in tennis, swimming, behaviour and school work with positive points or bad "marks" added to announce a house winner at the end of that school year. Three additional houses have been added to complete the rainbow: Ralston House (2004), Hadley and Jackson Houses (2021). Students compete in swimming and athletics carnivals and other competitions and events and one house is awarded each year for the most points won.
